Registration for the 3rd Central European Biomedical Congress has started Registration for the 3rd Central European Biomedical Congress has started We are pleased to announce that registration for the 3rd Central European Biomedical Congress is now open. The Congress entitled "News on biomarker discovery and research innovations in medicine and biomedical sciences" will be held in Kraków, September 15-18 2018. The conference is organized by the Institute of Pharmacology Polish Academy of Sciences in Kraków, the Jagiellonian University Medical College, Faculty of Medicine with cooperation with Polish Pharmacological Society and Polish Society of Toxicology.
2018 START stipends awarded 2018 START stipends awarded For the 26th year, the Foundation for Polish Science (FNP) has awarded the START stipends to the most talented young scientists from all over Poland. Two from the laureates come from the Institute of Pharmacology: Anna Piotrowska-Murzyn and Agnieszka Wnuk.

Lefkowitz from the Duke University Medical Center (USA) visited the Institute of Pharmacology. In 2012 Professors Robert J. Lefkowitz and Brian Kobilka were awarded jointly the Nobel Prize in chemistry for studies of G-protein-coupled receptors. Professor Lefkowitz accepted an invitation to deliver a lecture entitled "SEVEN TRANSMEMBRANE RECEPTORS".
