The activity of LPMS

The activity of the Laboratory of Protemics and Mass Spectrometry includes measurements carried out on MALDI-TOF/TOF mass spectrometer with application of necessary bioinformatic tools as MASCOT server. Typical applications of the discussed equipment are: determining the molecular mass of organic compounds, peptides, proteins and measureing the average mass of polymers, while determining the mass of their monomers. Studies based on analysis of peptides and proteins, including de novo sequencing to determine the peptide sequence and the identification and location of post-translational modifications in the protein sequence. The laboratory also has the opportunity to perform experiments using MALDI-TOF/TOF mass spectrometry and capillary liquid chromatography (Proxeon system) in the field of proteomics. The ability to perform routine bottom-up analyzes involving enzymatic digestion of the analyzed proteins and top-down experiments allowing to obtain information about the amino acid sequence of the protein without proteolytic digestion for proteins with a mass to 30 kDa. Possibility to perform quantitative analyzes in proteomics using iTraq technique. Imaging of tissue sections using the MALDI technique.
