The L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science International Rising Talents AWARD goes to scientist from IF-PAN

The L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science International Rising Talents are presented to fifteen promising young women, three from each world region (Africa and the Arab States, Asia-Pacific, Europe, Latin America and North America), in order to support and encourage them to pursue their scientific careers. They were selected among the best National and Regional fellows.

One of the rewards was awarded to Dr Bernadeta Szewczyk from IF-PAN in Krakow for her research devoted to increasing effectivity of antidepressant drugs by zinc supplements. Research work of Dr Szewczyk is aimed at better understanding of the molecular background of depressive disorder and elucidation of the mechanisms of action of antidepressant drugs.
