The 9th edition of the NCBiR LIDER program laureate

On January 22 the National Center for Research and Development announced the results of the 9th edition of the LIDER program. One of the laureates is dr Rafał Kurczab from the Department of Medicinal Chemistry of the Institute of Pharmacology, Polish Academy of Sciences.
The research conducted by dr Rafał Kurczab is focused on using advanced computational techniques in the process of searching for new biologically active substances. As a part of his project, a prototype of a polypharmacology-based computing platform supporting the process of drug design, will be developed. The strategy of polypharmacology in drug development results in greater effectiveness of pharmacotherapy and fewer side effects. The software will be available as a SaaS application (software as a service). The effectiveness of the platform will be tested in retrospective tests (using a chemogenomics database) and prospective tests in the search for new ligands used in the treatment of neuropathic pain.
The full list of the awarded projects is available on the NCBiR website under the link: LIDER IX
