Scientific award of L’Oréal Unesco For Women In Science for Anna Piotrowska-Murzyn

Anna Piotrowska-Murzyn, a PhD Student from the Department of Pharmacology of Pain IF PAS has become a winner of Polish edition of a scientific support programme L’Oréal Unesco For Women In Science awards. The researcher was awarded in the doctoral category.

In her research, conducted under the guidance of professor Joanna Mika, Anna Piotrowska-Murzyn focuses on the mechanisms of action of substances modulating the activity of selected glial cell subpopulations in the treatment of neuropathic pain.


The international programme For Women In Science was founded eighteen years ago by L’Oréal and Unesco. Since then, over 200 women from over 100 countries have been recognised for their research and received funding to further their studies.
