IF-PAN co-organizes Biomedical COngress in Krakow

Between 15- 18 June we held in Krakow the 2nd Central European Biomedical Congress (CEBC) “From emerging biomedical strategies to personalized medicine”. The congress was organized by IF-PAN and Collegium Medicum UJ under honorary patronage by Krakow President Jacek Majchrowski, Rector of the Jagiellonian University Prof. dr hab. Wojciech Nowak and President of the Polish Academy of Sciences Prof. dr hab. Jerzy Duszynski. Prof. dr hab. Małgorzta Filip from IF-PAN was scientific counselor of the congress.

Special guest of the Congress was Noble laureate (2012) in chemistry - Prof. Brian Kobilka (Stanford University, USA) who gave a plenary lecture entitled „Structural insights into G protein coupled receptor activation - implications for drug discovery”.

Other plenary lectures were given by: Kalpan M. Merchant (Purdue University, USA), Kjell Fuxe (Karolinska Institute, Szwecja), Jan Lubiński (Pomorski Uniwersytet Medyczny, Polska), Herbert Y. Meltzer (Northwestern University, USA) and Anton Bespalov (Partnership for Assessment and Accreditation of Scientific Practice, Niemcy).
