PhD Studies

Doctoral studies at the Institute of Pharmacology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IF PAS) in Krakow are intended for university graduates who, continuing their education in the field of modern experimental pharmacology, wish to obtain a doctorate in medical science, in the discipline of medical biology and neuropsychopharmacology.

Doctoral dissertations are prepared under the supervision of experienced professors at 14 research units of the Institute. The Institute of Pharmacology is authorized to confer doctor and habilitation degrees in medicine and medical biology.

The Institute of Pharmacology provides unique conditions for scientific work. Modern laboratories, broad spectrum of research equipment and infrastructure, including flow cytometry, mass spectrometry, confocal and fluorescent microscopy, optogenetics, in vivo microdialysis or generation of transgenic animals enable study of brain function at multiple levels.
