2018 START stipends awarded For the 26th year, the Foundation for Polish Science (FNP) has awarded the START stipends to the most talented young scientists from all over Poland. Two from the laureates come from the Institute of Pharmacology: Anna Piotrowska-Murzyn and Agnieszka Wnuk.
Guest lecture by Nobel Laureate Professor Robert J. Lefkowitz On Monday, May 7 Professor Robert J. Lefkowitz from the Duke University Medical Center (USA) visited the Institute of Pharmacology. In 2012 Professors Robert J. Lefkowitz and Brian Kobilka were awarded jointly the Nobel Prize in chemistry for studies of G-protein-coupled receptors. Professor Lefkowitz accepted an invitation to deliver a lecture entitled "SEVEN TRANSMEMBRANE RECEPTORS".

Last weekend there was an opportunity to visit the residence of the Rutkowski family in Bronowice, at present the headquarters of the Department of Phytochemistry of the Institute of Pharmacology.
Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting At the 68th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting, dedicated to physiology and medicine, 43 Nobel Laureates will meet 600 international young scientists. Among scholars of the Foundation for Polish Science who successfully completed the recruitment process and found themselves among the scientists who will take part in the Nobel Laureates Meeting in Lindau in 2018 is Dr. Natalia Małek, the PhD graduate of the Institute of Pharmacology at the Polish Academy of Sciences, currently a research fellow at the University of Wrocław.
